Delano Rigby Jr. threw ten passes Thursday night. He completed ten passes.

The Beacon quarterback did not miss once in a 47-6 win over Saugerties, finishing 10-for-10 for 172 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs moved to 6-0.

Elijah Epps handled the rest of it. He carried 11 times for 157 yards and two scores — better than 14 yards every time he touched it — and added 38 more through the air.

Beacon settled the thing early and then kept going. The Bulldogs put up eight points in the first quarter, 16 in the second and 23 in the third, and did not need the fourth. Saugerties’ only points came in the second.

Jamir Spence caught three balls for 78 yards and one of Rigby’s touchdowns.

The night fit the season. Epps is up to 13 touchdowns this fall, 12 of them on the ground, and is averaging better than 100 rushing yards a game. Rigby has nine touchdown passes and is completing better than three-quarters of what he throws.

What stands out about this Beacon team is how many different ways it has won. The Bulldogs ground out a 12-6 decision against Marlboro Central. Two weeks later they traded blows with New Paltz and came home with a 63-34 win. Thursday was neither — just a team that was better everywhere, for three quarters, against an opponent that could not keep up.

Beacon opened the season with wins at Ketcham and at O’Neill and has not lost since. Saugerties falls to 2-3.

The schedule gets heavier from here. Beacon travels to Port Jervis on Thursday, Oct. 16, for a 6 p.m. kickoff, hosts Poughkeepsie on Oct. 23 and closes the regular season at Liberty on Oct. 30.
